Czech talent Daniel Polášek to compete in FRC with a KMS Racing Ford Fiesta Rally4
Czech rally driver Daniel Polášek competes in Finnish Rally Championship in the front-wheel drive SM3 category. With nine career ERC starts so far, the 23-year-old driver competes with the Ford Fiesta Rally4 run by KMS Racing. KMS Racing, which has helped young talents to further their careers, was a natural choice for Polášek.
Finnish Rally Championship is set to gain an international driver to compete in the championship as Czech driver Daniel Polášek competes with Ford Fiesta Rally4 in the SM3 category. The 23-year-old, who is set to compete in the KMS Racing team, the official M-Sport partner in Finland, gets his first competitive touch with snowy Finnish roads in January’s Arctic Lapland Rally, and gravel debut in Finland is set for a late date during the spring.
-Finland has unique gravel roads and high level of competition. I’ve never driven on these kinds of gravel roads or snow, so our goal is to gain more and more pace throughout the season, Polášek says.
With nine career ERC starts already, Polášek is looking to learn in Finland. KMS Racing, which has been working with successful drivers at the start of their careers, was a natural choice for the Czech driver.
-The idea to compete in Finland came from Dennis Rådrstöm, who recommended Jussi Kumpumäki and KMS Racing. Cooperation with KMS Racing has been really good, Polášek thanks.
KMS Racing’s Jussi Kumpumäki trusts the young driver’s pace to increase in the upcoming season. KMS Racing has year of experience with drivers building their careers.
-Daniel is an experienced driver despite his young age. With our experience and cooperation partners we can offer him the tools to further his career, driving and car setup. Daniel has been showing his speed in Europe, and it will be interesting to see, how his pace is like in Finland and where we are set to see the most improvement throughout the season, Kumpumäki tells.
KMS Racing has been official M-Sport partner from 2010. The team, set up by ex-Finnish champion Arto Kumpumäki, is going through a generational change, with Jussi taking the lead. The team is set to broaden the opportunities for young drivers to develop their careers.
-We’ve gone through a generational change at KMS Racing. We’ll continue the same work with Daniel as KMS Racing has done with successful Finnish drivers before in the front-wheel drive categories. Now we’re set our eyes firmly in Europe with ERC and WRC, and with the Rally3 category that’s becoming more and more popular. Finland is definitely the right place for a young driver to compete in, as the level of competition is high, Kumpumäki says.
